Hale Farm & Village Garden Tours
This summer, leave the car behind and take a ride by rail to Hale Farm & Village. This leisure experience will take you back through the centuries to the time when the Cuyahoga Valley was just being settled and farmed.
The guided tour at Hale Farm will include a look at their historically recreated gardens including the pioneer garden, kitchen garden, dye garden, herb garden and spectacular ornamental garden that features heirloom varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and trees.
The tour will also spend time at Great Lakes Brewing Company's "Pint Size Farm." Nestled in the heart of Hale Farm & Village, Pint Size Farm provides fresh organic produce for the brewing company's restaurant. Learn historic gardening techniques and how to apply to a 21st century garden.
Depart Rockside Station at 9 am / Return at 3:40 pm

City Tour of Akron, with "Mr. Akron" Himself!
Take a relaxing journey through teh heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park and once you arrive in Akron, you will be met by "Mr. Akron," Larry Pentacost.
On board a comfy bus, you will be toured around Akron and learn about hte City of Invention where Rockefeller, Ford and Edison played, and married their wives! Learn about Akron of Yesterday, teh scandals and naughty secrets...and about Akron of Today and why it is a great place to live and visit.
Enjoy a boxed lunch on the return train trip.

July 31 The Hartville MarketPlace Express
Climb aboard at the Akron Northside Station and travel south to Hartville. Along the way, gain for stregnth for serious shopping by enjoying a boxed lunch. A motor coach will pick you up and take you in comfort to Hartville MarketPlace. There you can enjoy a 100,000 sq foot, 2-story building that houses 110 individually owned shops. Or, stop at the flea market that boasts over 200 covered vendor spaces and 800 black topped spaces. You won't be bored on this trip! The motor coach will bring you back to the train for the return trip to Akron Northside Station.

July 22 Young at Heart Program: Summer in the Valley
As spring fades in to summer, the park is alive wtih visitors and wildlike enjoying the season and sunshine. Join Park Ranger Paul Motts to uncover the beauty of summer in CVNP.
Tickets are just $10 for those ages 55 and over
Adults are $15, Children (3 - 12)

July 31 Train to the Paranormal: A Unique, Ghostly Experience!
The train departs the Akron Northside Station at 5:45 pm, traveling South for a unique, fun-filled and ghostly time! You will be joined on board by Pyschic Medium Anne Miller, who will identify the spirits you brought with you, and she will relay any messages from them to you!
A bus will be waiting for you in North Canton where you will de-board and take you to Canal Fulton. You will arrive at the Warehouse of Canal Fulton (deemed Canal Fulton's most haunted building) for a Victorian-style Wake dinner and drinks.
After dinner, you will experience a tour of hte warehouse, followed by a walking tour of downtown Canal Fulton - in the area considered to be the most active.
It is recommended you dress in black, as ghosts are thought to not be able to see those dressed in black.
Tickets are $80 per person, and include the train ride, dinner, drinks and tours

August 1 Brecksville Kiwanis Horse Show
Train riders are invited to make the 1/4 mile trip between the Brecksville Station and the Brecksville Kiwanis Horse Show by way of a free hayride. The Kiwanis club will meet the train at the Brecksville Station at 11:40 am, 1:05 pm, 3:20 pm and 4:25 pm
Horse Show tickets can be purchased the day of the show at the gate, in advance by calling 440-526-5618, or in-line at www.brecksvillekiwanis.org
Horse Show tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for children to age 12.
The Brecksville Kiwanis Horse Show is the biggest one day horse show in Ohio. It features traditional ridership and jumping events. Family events include a build and ride your own stick horse for the young guests (at about 4 pm) a riding and shooting show performed by the Ohio Outlaws (about 4:30 pm) a unique Arts & Crafts Fair, and a food tent full of summertime treats.
CVSR Excursion tickets are $15 for adults / $10 for children (admission to the Horse Show is seperate)

2010 Grape Escape Wine-Tasting Excursions
Enjoy one of CVSR's relaxing wine-tasting excursions. These two hour round trips travel through Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
While on board, you will learn of each wine you are tasting's characteristics such as the body, bouquet, flavor and finish.
Each wine is paired with an hors de oeuvres designed to complement each wine.

Want to learn how to taste wine as the experts do? Eyeballing wine, swirling and sniffing and swishing...it may look complicated or even snobbish, but the traditional wine tasting technique is actually based on common sense. You will sample 5 classic wine varieties and learn of their characteristics, such as body, flavor, bouquet and finish. Each wine will be served with an appetizer designed to complement each wine.

This car is the Cuyahoga Inn and offers booths or tables and chairs
Executive Class Seats: $90 per person
This is CVSR's top-of-the-line luxury car, the St. Lucie. All seats are comfortable arm chairs and couches.
Emerson Car: $55 to $90 per person
CVSR's luxury observatin car with three different levels, club seating, First Class seating and Dome seats. This car is only available May through November.
2010 "Ales on Rails", Beer Tasting Excursions
Climb aboard for a fun way to learn and sample intersting and unique beers from around the world.
You will sample 5 different brews each trip and will learn of each beer's characteristics such as appearance, bouquet, body, flavors and finish. Each beer is served with an appetizer designed by Chef Marc to complement each one.
All trips travel through Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Rouge Ales are made with the finest hops and barley malt, free range coastal water and Pacman top fermented proprietary yeast. Preservatives, additives, chemicals: Never! Rogue does not pasteurize its products. Rogue ales are bottled using an oxygen absorbing cap, brown glass or a better shelf life, and plenty of malted barley and hops to provide stability.

Brecksville Kiwanis Horse Show
Combine a train ride along with a hayride from teh Brecksville Station to the Horse Show - for a great old-fashion family experience!
Train riders are invited to make the 1/4 mile trip between the CVSR Brecksville Station and the event by way of a free ride in a hay wagon. The Kiwanis Club will meet the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad at the Brecksville Station at 11:40 a.m., 1:05 p.m., 3:20 p.m. and 4:25 p.m.
