The Canton Connection!
 
June, July and August ONLY
 
Service TO and FROM the Canton Lincoln Highway Station has been CANCELED June 25, 26 and 27th, 2010.
Service is scheduled to resume on June 30, 2010.
 
Travel TO the City of Canton, departing from the Akron Northside Station at 10:45 am OR the Rockside Station in Independence at 9 a.m. for an adventurous day visiting one of the city's great attractions!
 
You will arrive in Canton at 12 p.m. and board a SARTA bus - the Downtown Loop - which will take you to the attraction of your choice!  Admission to the attraction is seperate, but discounts to most are offered when you show your CVSR ticket!  The bus will then pick you back up and bring you back to the station in time for the 3:45 p.m. departure back north.
 
Enjoy a fresh deli sandwich or salad on the train in our concession car, so you don't have to worry about lunch while out and about.
 
There is NO bus service on Sundays.
Walking tours ONLY will be available.

Pro Football Hall of Fame
The names are revered.  The plays forever etched in the ollective memory of football fans everywhere.  They are giants of this game.  And to pay homage, you must go to the one place sacred enough to immortalize such hereos.  The Pro Football Hall of Fame - legends live here.

William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum
The National Memorial to the 25th President of the United States, William McKinley.  Museum includes the McKinley Gallery of Presidential artifacts, an indoor historic town and an 84 foot model train, the Hoover-Price Planetarium, museum shoppe and Discover World - a science center with a moving and roaring dinosaur!

Canton Museum of Art
The Canton Museum of Art has a nationally recognized permanent collection focusing on 19th and 20th century american watercolors, and contemporary ceramics.  A full schedule of events, classes and exhibits is available on line at www.Cantonart.org
Admission: Adults $6 / Children under 12 are free
 
National First Ladies' Library and Saxton McKinley House
Enjoy a guided tour of the museum to view the current exhibit: America's Goodwill Ambassador's: First Ladies Travel the World.  You cna then view the Saxton McKinley House, the  ancestrol home of President McKinley.
Tours are offered at 9:30, 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, & 2:30 pm

Canton Classic Car Museum
The Canton Classic Car Museum, established in 1978, exhibits 45 rare and unusual classic and special interest automobiles.  The gorgeous vehicles are complemented by thousands of historical memorabilia displayed throughout the museum.

Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography
The gallery offers original prints by significant photographers, including Alfred Steiglitz, Annie Leibowitz and Edward Weston.  Closed Sundays.

Trips Depart FROM the Canton Lincoln Highway Station
 
Canton-Akron Flyer
Travel the urban countryside between the cities of Akron and Canton by rail, just as they did when the tracks were originally built in 1880.  While enjoying teh rhythm of the clickety-clack, you will be able to see  Goodyear Tire and Rubber, the Goodyear Air Dock, and numerous other significant industrial sites that helped build this area into one of prosperity in its day.
Depart Canton at 9 am  / Return at 12 pm    or    Depart at 3:45 pm / Return at 6:55 pm
 
National Park Scenic or Peninsula Explorer
Change train when arriving in Akron and continue north into Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  See the entire National Park by rail, or hop off and explore in the Canel-era town of Peninsula and visit their unique shops and restaurants.
Depart Canton at 9 am / Return at 6:55 pm
